About Sabrina’s Journey to Home Cooking

Bonjour and welcome!
I’m Sabrina, the cook, photographer, and storyteller behind From My Kitchenette.
I’m French, raised in a Portuguese household, and most of my memories start around a table: big family meals, simple ingredients, and recipes passed down without measurements.

I didn’t grow up cooking. In fact, I was scared of it.
But when my first son was born, everything changed. I wanted him to grow up with homemade meals and warm memories, so I taught myself how to cook from scratch — one cozy recipe at a time. My first real dish was a roast chicken, and from there, something in me clicked. Cooking became a way to slow down, create comfort, and bring a bit of home into every season of life.

Start Homesteading

From My Kitchenette started during that time — a tiny kitchen, two kids, and a growing love for food that feels nostalgic, simple, and real. Today, I share the kind of recipes we actually make and eat at home: French-Portuguese inspired meals, seasonal dishes, and comfort foods that make a normal day feel special.

My style is all about:

  • cozy, family-friendly meals
  • nostalgic flavors
  • easy steps (even if you’re learning as you go)
  • warm, simple food photography

Everything you see here is cooked, tested, styled, and photographed by me. No AI-generated recipes, no outsourcing — just real food you can trust.
I also built a small tool on my site that helps you use your leftovers to create new meals, but every official recipe on the blog is developed by me in my own kitchen.
